For details, you may refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cr.gov.hk\/en\/companies_ordinance\/docs\/Guide_RegCompName-e.pdf\">Guideline on Registration of Company Names for Hong Kong Companies<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"3\">\n<li>Submit Application<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Deliver the required documents with corresponding fees either electronically or in hard copy form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"4\">\n<li>Next, collect or receive the Certificate of Incorporation and Business Registration Certificate.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"5\">\n<li>Obtain the required permits or licenses<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apply for the required licenses, permits, certificates, and approvals according to business needs. For details, you may visit the website of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tid.gov.hk\/eindex.html\">Trade and Industry Department<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-are-some-of-the-documents-you-need-to-start-a-company\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_are_some_of_the_documents_you_need_to_start_a_company\"><\/span><strong>What are some of the documents you need to start a company?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When submitting an application for company registration, the following documents are needed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Incorporation Form:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For a company limited by shares: Form NNC1; or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For companies not limited by shares: Form <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cr.gov.hk\/en\/forms\/specified.htm#27\">NNC1G&nbsp;<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Company&#8217;s articles of association: This is mainly about the number, total amount and composition of the company\u2019s shares. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cr.gov.hk\/en\/electronic\/e-registry.htm#collapse-registration-05\">Samples<\/a> are available for use at e-Registry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Notice to Business Registration Office (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cr.gov.hk\/en\/forms\/specified.htm#26\">IRBR1<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-basic-fees-to-start-a-company\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Basic_Fees_to_start_a_Company\"><\/span><strong>Basic Fees to start a Company<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In general, a company needs to pay an incorporation fee, a business registration fee, and a levy. There are two types of business registration certificates, namely a 1-year certificate, and a 3-year certificate:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td>&nbsp;<\/td><td><strong>Fees<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Incorporation<\/td><td>HK$1,720<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Business registration fee and levy<\/td><td>1-year: HK$2503-year: HK$3,950<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-submit-an-application-for-the-br\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_submit_an_application_for_the_BR\"><\/span><strong>How to submit an application for the BR?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applicants can submit the required documents and fees to the Companies Registry in two ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Electronically through the &#8220;e-Registry&#8221; or \u201cCR eFiling\u201d mobile application<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The hard copy submission form to the Shroff on the 14th floor of the Queensway Government Offices.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If or after the application is approved, you should download, or collect your Certificate of Incorporation and Business Registration Certificate (\u201cthe Certificates\u201d). Both of these certificates will be issued in electronic form or in hard copy form. It will depend on the mode of delivery selected in the applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-faq\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"FAQ\"><\/span><strong>FAQ<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-can-i-use-my-home-address-as-my-business-address\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Can_I_use_my_home_address_as_my_business_address\"><\/span><strong>Can I use my home address as my business address?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under the Companies Ordinance of Hong Kong, every company incorporated in Hong Kong must have a Hong Kong address as the company\u2019s registered address, and a post office box cannot be used as one.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore, your home address can be used as a business address. However, as the address will be published by the Companies Registry, many companies without an office will use the registered address service of an accounting firm or a law firm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-do-i-have-to-take-out-insurance-policies-for-my-employees\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Do_I_have_to_take_out_insurance_policies_for_my_employees\"><\/span><strong>Do I have to take out insurance policies for my employees?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the Employees&#8217; Compensation Ordinance, all employers are required to take out insurance policies to cover their liabilities in respect of all their employees. This is irrespective of the length or working hours of the employment contract. It covers full-time, part-time, permanent or temporary employment as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An employer who fails to comply with the Ordinance to secure an insurance cover is liable to prosecution and, upon conviction, to a maximum fine of HK$100,000 and imprisonment for two years.
